2nd of a 5-part comic. Panel 1: Natsume rubs his eye blearily, embarrassed; Tanuma rests his headphones on his shoulders. Natsume: Sorry I keep falling asleep... Tanuma: It's okay, I don't mind. I wasn't in the mood to study anyway. Panel 2: Tanuma looks at Natsume curiously; Natsume leans down from the bed. Tanuma: You seem tired these days. Yōkai again? Natsume: Yeah. It's not bad, though. There's just been more dropping by these days. Most of them don't understand the concept of school, so... Panel 3: A shot of the book on the floor, being picked up by Natsume. Tanuma: They sound lively. Natsume: Lively... That's one way to put it. Tanuma: Can Ponta keep them out temporarily? Natsume: He used to, but sometimes it's time sensitive, and other times... I don't want to turn them away. Panel 4: A view of Natsume from behind, in Tanuma's perspective. He looks down at the book in his hand, almost self-reproachful. Natsume: Still. You were nice enough to invite me over, and I... Panel 5 and 6: Tanuma looks at Natsume in quiet realization, then looks upward.

3rd of a 5-part comic. Panel 1: A view of the corner of the ceiling, covered in a pond's reflection. Panel 2: The shadow of a lone koi fish swims in the reflection. Panel 3: A close-up of Tanuma's eye, as if making eye contact with the fish. Tanuma: ... Natsume.

4th of a 5-part comic. Panel 1: Natsume, still bleary-eyed, looks mildly surprised. Tanuma, off-screen: You used to go to shrines when you needed to stay away from yōkai, right? You mentioned it before. Natsume: Huh? ... Yeah Tanuma, off-screen: How do I put this... Panel 2: A shot from behind both of them. Natsume is half-turned towards Tanuma from where he's still laid in bed; Tanuma looks to his front. Tanuma: When I pass by your class, sometimes you're asleep on your table. Even when I can see you're really tired, you still hang out with me. And I thought... Temples aren't the same as shrines, so this is probably baseless, but I like to think being here helps you, at least a little. Or... Something like that. I guess what I'm trying to say is... Panel 3 and 4: They look at each other. Natsume is surprised; Tanuma smiles gently. Tanuma: You can take a nap here whenever you like. It's nice, seeing you well-rested.

5th of a 5-part comic. Panel 1: A close-up of Natsume's eyes, cast downward. He looks lost in thought. Tanuma, off-screen: Although, if Ponta can come and go as he pleases... Ah, it's probably wishful thinking. Natsume: ... Tanuma. Thank you. I... I feel really comfortable here. Panel 2: Tanuma leans further back into the bed, looking up; Natsume pushes the blanket back and sits up. They smile at each other. Tanuma: Yeah, Western beds are really nice, aren't they? Natsume: ... Yeah, they are. Panel 3: Natsume leans closer to Tanuma; his fist is clenched on the bed. Tanuma picks up his headphones. Natsume: What song were you humming just now? Tanuma: You heard that? Wait, did I wake you up? Natsume: It's okay. I didn't know you sing. Tanuma: Oh. I, uh, I don't, not technically. Uhm, the song. It's from one of the tapes I got yesterday. Natsume: Can I...? Tanuma: Hm? Oh! Of course. Nyanko-sensei slams open the sliding door from outside. There's an orange on his head. Nyanko-sensei: Tanuma boy, peel this for me! Oh, Natsume, you're finally awake. Tanuma: Welcome back, Ponta. Natsume: Nyanko-sensei... Where did you get that from?
